Fridays: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lenexa Mayor Michael Boehm will join Kimchi and Bap’s Chef/Owner Lisa Hamblen for a ribbon cutting as part of a grand opening celebration on Friday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m.

Hamblen perfected Kimchi and Bap’s menu through pop-up events at the Lenexa Public Market over the past year.

With a goal of opening her first permanent space this summer, Hamblen spent the past few months transforming a stall that is located between African Dream Cuisine and Sohaila’s Kitchen.

Guests will enjoy a fresh, diverse menu including Kimchi and Bap’s most popular dish, bibimbap, which features nine different vegetables and gochujang sauce. Other menu items include japchae, rice bowls and kimchi. They will also offer a rotating menu of snacks, such as mandu and gimbap, along with other dishes like stews and soups.

“The Korean flair of Kimchi and Bap’s dishes delivers unique flavors for all at the Lenexa Public Market,” said Public Market Manager Tessa Adcock. “Lisa is extremely hard-working, pays attention to the last detail and is just a pleasure to have join the merchant team. We are truly lucky to welcome her as a full-time merchant in the market.”

Hamblen reflects on her journey, "It is wild to think that when the Lenexa Public Market was being built before my eyes (I live across the street), that one day I would do a pop-up with Korean food and now become a merchant. I remember stopping by to get treats from Kate Smith Soirée and other merchants, and now they are my friends and teammates. From the managers and staff of the Lenexa Public Market to City Hall, everyone has been so supportive and kind. My heart is full with gratitude. I am looking forward to serving delicious Korean dishes and building relationships!"
