We know everyone is excited for the market to open, so we wanted to share a little about what you can expect for our grand opening tomorrow:


6 a.m.: Doors to the Market are open. The Roasterie and Frannie Franks Coffee Cakes will be open.

10 a.m.: Ribbon cutting and short program outside of the south doors to the Market. We’ll be live streaming the event. If you attend in person, we’ll be giving away Lenexa Public Market stickers and market bags.

Merchants opening Sept. 1

Merchants, including anchor, short-term and pop-up tenants, will continually rotate at the Lenexa Public Market.

  • Delyetful Soaps and Body Care Products offers a wide variety of handcrafted products for all ages including soaps, lotions, body butters and bath fizzies.
  • The Flower Market will partner with the Lenexa Public Market in a space offering beautiful flowers and other gift items.
  • Foo’s Fabulous Café offers an array of locally-made treats. Enjoy fabulous frozen custard, fruit slurries, and Christopher Elbow Chocolates.
  • Frannie Franks Coffee Cakes serves award-winning coffee cake, baked from Frannie's beloved recipe. Pick up a whole coffee cake or purchase by the slice.
  • The Roasterie offers its full menu of signature drinks, including coffee and espresso drinks, tea and its Cold Brew in cans and on tap and its Nitro Cold Brew in cans and on tap. Locally baked pastries and grab-and-go-snacks are available for purchase, along with a limited collection of Roasterie brewing equipment, merchandise and whole beans. The Lenexa City Center Roasterie Blend will be served, and the beans are available to buy for take-home brewing.
  • Thirty-Six offers handmade wood artwork, hand-carved glassware and engraved travertine stone coasters. Man cave art your wife will approve.
  • Topp’d Pizza + Salads serves up signature and custom-made pizzas using locally sourced and fresh ingredients. In addition to pizza, the menu includes fresh salads and grinder sub sandwiches, as well as a selection of small plates and appetizers. All dough, sauces, toppings and dressings are made from scratch.
  • We Got Your Back Apparel offers super-soft apparel.

Pop-ups on Sept. 1

  • Chewology + Sura Eats: Anchor merchant Chewology is partnering with Asian favorite Sura Eats for a one-day-only pop-up restaurant in The Kitchen on Sept. 1. Hours are Noon to 8 p.m. (or when the food runs out).
  • Mad Man’s NitroCream offers handcrafted, made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream available in four flavors, from the owner of Mad Man’s KC BBQ. This pop-up will be during the month of September. Hours are Fridays: 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays: noon to 8 p.m.; Sundays: noon to 7 p.m.

Entertainment and Specials on Sept. 1

  • Be one of the first 25 people to stop by Frannie Franks Coffee Cakes to receive one free coffee cake with the purchase of another coffee cake. Frannie Franks opens at 6 a.m.
  • Come by Market Flowers & Gifts any time Sept. 1-Sept. 4 to put your name in a drawing to win one of several great prizes, including: two seats to the Test Kitchen underground supper club event held at the Lenexa Public Market, two seats to a cooking class held in The Kitchen at Lenexa Public Market or a Lenexa Public Market T-Shirt.
  • Enjoy entertainment from DJ SugEasy and Crew on Friday, Sept. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. They will be playing a mix of classics and new hits. Bring your kids by their tables to get creative with graffiti lettering styles and view some available graffiti art items.

Pop-ups opening soon
We will often be featuring pop-up merchants with limited hours. Current pop-ups include:

  • Sweet Kiss Brigadeiro will sell handmade Brazilian chocolates in one of our day carts on Saturday, Sept. 2.
  • DeeDee’s Jewelry and Vintage Décor will be selling antiques and vintage-inspired items in one of our day carts on Sunday, Sept. 3.
  • Red Kitchen Tamales is a pop-up restaurant in The Kitchen that will offer homemade tamales on Tuesdays during September. Eat-in and pre-orders will be available. Hours are: Sept. 5: 4 to 6 p.m.; Sept. 12, 19 and 26: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Serene’s Bakery offers made-from-scratch desserts, using the highest-quality ingredients. September hours beginning Sept. 9 are: Saturdays and Sundays 7 a.m. to noon, or until sell out.

Merchants opening soon

  • CHEWOLOGY {Gyoza Bar & Kushiyaki} will offer Japanese gyoza (pan-fried dumplings), grilled skewer appetizers, specialty East Asian dough-based dishes, and drinks. (Opens early October)
  • Mad Man’s KC BBQ will bring delicious Kansas City BBQ and will feature nitrogen ice cream and other tasty treats (Opening in November)
  • Red Kitchen Tamales is a pop-up restaurant in The Kitchen that will offer homemade tamales on Tuesdays during September. (Open Sept. 5)
  • Serene’s Bakery offers made-from-scratch desserts, using the highest-quality ingredients. (Opens Oct. 7)
